“We never lose those we give to God.”
-St. Augustine
(He/She) is with God.
(He/She) will remain in our hearts forever.
Our family chain is broken,
nothing seems the same,
but as God calls us one by one,
the links shall join again.
May you rest in peace, dear (mother/father),
in that heavenly home above,
with the Sacred Heart of Jesus,
in His own eternal love.
Irish Blessing
May the road rise up to meet you,
may the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again, may God
hold you in the palm of His hand.
May (his/her) soul and the souls
of all the faithful departed
through the mercy of God
rest in peace.
Amen.
Eternal rest grant unto (him/her) O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon (him/her), and may (his/her) soul and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.Hail Mary
Hail Mary, Full of Grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
And blessed is the fruit
Of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
God’s Garden
God looked around His garden
And found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the Earth
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb,
So He closed your weary eyelids
And whispered “Peace be thine”.
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn’t go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home
The Lord is my shepherd;
Therefore can I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures
and leads me beside still waters.
He shall refresh my soul
and guide me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil; for you are with me;
your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You spread a table before me
in the presence of those who trouble me;
you have anointed my head with oil
and my cup shall be full.
Surely goodness and loving mercy
shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Ghost;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen.
God saw you getting tired,
And a cure was not to be.
So He put his arms around you,
And whispered “Come to me”.With tearful eyes we watched you,
And saw you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
Jesus said to his disciples; ‘Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God still, and trust in me. There are many rooms in my Father’s house; if there were not, I should have told you. I am going now to prepare a place for you, and after I have gone and prepared you a place, I shall return to take you with me; so that where I am you may be too. You know the way to the place where I am going.’ Thomas said: ‘Lord, we do not know where you are going, so how can we know the way?’ Jesus said: ‘I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father except through me.’
De Profundis

Out of the depths I have cried to you, O’Lord:
Lord hear my voice.

Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplication.

If you, O Lord, shall observe iniquities, Lord, who shall endure it?

For with you there is merciful forgiveness:
and by reason of your law I have waited for you, O Lord.

My soul has relied on his word; My soul has hoped in the Lord.

From the morning watch even until night, let Israel hope in the Lord.

Because with the Lord there is mercy, and with him plentiful redemption.

And he shall redeem Israel from his iniquities.
The Broken Chain
We little knew that morning
That God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you,
You did not go alone;
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

You left us peaceful memories,
Your love is still our guide;
And though we can not see you,
You are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same;
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.
On this mountain,
the Lord of hosts will prepare for all peoples
a banquet of rich food.
On this mountain he will remove
the mourning veil covering all peoples,
and the shroud enwrapping all nations,
he will destroy Death for ever.
The Lord will wipe away
the tears from every cheek;
he will take away his people’s shame
everywhere on earth,
for the Lord has said so.
May Christ support us
all the day long,
till the shadows lengthen,
and the evening comes,
and the busy world is hushed,
and the fever of life is over
and our work is done.
Then in His mercy
may He give us a safe lodging,
and holy rest and peace at the last.
Amen.
May the angels lead you into paradise;
may the martyrs greet you at your arrival
and lead you into the holy City of Jerusalem.
May the choir of Angels greet you
and like Lazarus, who once was a poor man,
may you have eternal rest.
Eternal rest grant to him/her, O’Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him/her.I have fought the good fight,
I have finished the race,
I have kept the faith.

Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness.
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases,
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
Go forth upon your journey from this world,
in the name of God the Father almighty who created you;
in the name of Jesus Christ who suffered death for you;
in the name of the Holy Spirit who strengthens you;
in communion with the blessed saints, and aided by angels and archangels,
and all the armies of the heavenly host.May your portion this day be in peace,
and your dwelling the heavenly Jerusalem.
Those who die in grace
go no further from us
than God;
and God is very near.
All I ask of you is that,
wherever you may be,
You will always remember me at the Altar of God.
ayer from the ones who loved you,
Just a memory fond and true,
In our hearts you will live forever,
Because we thought the world of you.
Jesus said ‘Come to me,
all of you who are tired from carrying your heavy loads,
and I will give you rest.
May the road rise up to meet you.

May the wind always be at your back.

May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.

And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Song of Farewell

May the choirs of angels come to greet you,
May they speed you to paradise.
May the Lord enfold you in His mercy,
May you find eternal life.
I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Christ has died,
Christ is risen,
Christ will come again.
The souls of the just are in the hands of God, and no torment shall touch them.Merciful Father,
hear our prayers and comfort us;
renew our trust in your Son,
whom you raised from the dead;
strengthen our faith
that all who have died in the love of Christ
will share in his resurrection;
who lives and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
May you rest in peace, dear (mother/father),
in that heavenly home above,
with the Sacred Heart of Jesus,
in His own eternal love.
Go forth upon your journey from this world,
in the name of God the Father almighty who created you;
in the name of Jesus Christ who suffered death for you;
in the name of the Holy Spirit who strengthens you;
in communion with the blessed saints, and aided by angels and archangels,
and all the armies of the heavenly host.May your portion this day be in peace,
and your dwelling the heavenly Jerusalem.
God be in my head,
and in my understanding;

God be in my eyes,
and in my looking;

God be in my mouth,
and in my speaking;

God be in my heart,
and in my thinking;

God be at my end,
and at my departing
